University of Õ¬Äе¼º½ baseball repeated as NCAA Division II national champions on Saturday, defeating University of Central Missouri, 11-5, in Cary, North Carolina.
“What a resilient group for the entire tournament. Coming through the losers bracket, played back-to-back doubleheaders, they never lost focus," said Joe Urso '92, the Stu and Diane WilliamsÌýhead baseball coach.
“As a team, we wanted to stay together, grind it out and focus every pitch,"Ìýsaid Jordan Williams, a grad student on the team. "We knew that if we kept getting the bat to the next guy, we could stay in it. We kept saying it was a 0-0 ballgame, we didn’t let up, we didn’t let in."Ìý
The 10-time national champion Õ¬Äе¼º½ is the only Division ll baseball program to win double-digit national championships. The Spartans concluded the 2025 season with a program record 55 wins.Ìý
“The part that is really special is how many guys last night said that they are leaving it all on the field for this team, and for our University. A lot of these kids won’t put on a uniform again," Urso added.
